New PARANORMAL ACTIVITY Reboot from UNDERWATER & HAPPY DEATH DAY Directors Will Remain “Found Footage”

Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin

There’s a Paranormal Activity reboot in the works at Blumhouse with Underwater director Will Eubank set to helm from a script penned by Happy Death Day/Freaky mastermind Christopher Landon. Landon is especially familiar with the source franchise, having written the screenplays for Paranormal Activity 2 through 4 as well as the spinoff Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (which he also directed)

Jason Blum and original Paranormal Activity writer/director Oren Peli are producing. THR reports:

Plot details for the new outing are being kept behind the lens but it is known that it will continue to the found footage device.

The new Paranormal Activity reboot is already slated to arrive in theaters on March 4th, 2022. If it’s been a while, check out the trailer and synopsis for the original Paranormal Activity (released in 2007) below.

Synopsis:
Soon after moving into a suburban tract home, Katie (Katie Featherston) and Micah (Micah Sloat) become increasingly disturbed by what appears to be a supernatural presence. Hoping to capture evidence of it on film, they set up video cameras in the house but are not prepared for the terrifying events that follow.
