For those who don’t know me, my name is Yulissa, and I’m the director of distribution at Epic Pictures and Dread. I often feel like women, especially women in horror, are seen as (and expected to be) one thing. We can like the Kardashians and think Beetlejuice is hot at the same time. That spirit of being more than one thing perfectly exemplifies our next Woman in Horror shout-out, the wonderful multi-monikered, Gigi Saul Guerrero.

A Mexican-Canadian filmmaker, writer, actress and model, Gigi gained recognition for creating and directing the 2017 horror web series La Quinceañera. In 2019, she directed episodes of The Purge and the anthology horror series Into the Dark. Gigi’s one to keep an eye on!
