Spike Lee Producing New Cthulhu Horror Movie for Netflix
Spike Lee will take on Cthulhu in the new Netflix film Gordon Hemingway & The Realm of Cthulhu. Lee will produce with Oliver Oftedal and Tom Olsson.
The film follows a Black American adventure hero, who teams up with a fearsome Ethiopian princess warrior to rescue her regent from a mystical, ancient, evil force.
See You Yesterday director Stefon Bristol will helm the flick from an original screenplay by Hank Woon, with rewrites by Fredrica Bailey (See You Yesterday).

Lee’s last “horror” flick was Da Sweet Blood of Jesus. It found a rich anthropologist stabbed by an ancient African dagger and turned into a vampire. Stephen Tyrone Williams starred along with Zaraah Abrahams, Elvis Nolasco, and Rami Malek
The film sports a 45% rating over on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus reads: Da Sweet Blood of Jesus has no shortage of style, but it isn’t enough to make this horror-tinged Spike Lee joint one of his best — or worth recommending
