Derek Mears Shares Behind-the-Scenes Pic of Jason Voorhees Sinking to the Bottom of Crystal Lake in FRIDAY THE 13th (2009)
Derek Mears played iconic slasher Jason Voorhees in 2009’s Friday the 13th reboot. Today, he shared a rare behind-the-scenes picture from his time on set. In it, we see a stupified Jason sinking to the bottom of Crystal Lake. Check it out:
“[I’m] not smiling in the shot,” Mears assures his followers. “The side of my mouth was wired open for the makeup.”

2009’s Friday the 13th was directed by Marcus Nispel; in addition to Mears, the film stars Jared Padalecki, Amanda Righetti, and Danielle Panabaker. Check out the trailer and synopsis below.
Synopsis:
Against the advice of locals and police, Clay (Jared Padalecki) scours the eerie woods surrounding Crystal Lake for his missing sister. But the rotting cabins of an abandoned summer camp are not the only things he finds.
