New BLADE Targeting 2021 Filming Start Date

Marvel’s Blade, The Vampire Slayer with Mahershala Ali is in the works. And today Phase Zero confirms the flick is aiming to shoot this year. Marvel recently placed their reboot between Black Panther II and Captain Marvel 2. And considering they have an untitled flick set for October 7, 2022, it’s likely Blade will be that film.

But we’ll see… Stay tuned.

Though many fans were hoping the reboot would be R-rated, Marvel’s Kevin Feige recently revealed Blade, The Vampire Slayer will be PG-13.

Feige said: “Other than Deadpool, which has already established itself as a certain genre and a certain rating, that we already said we would not mess with when we started working on Deadpool – which we have – other than that, we haven’t encountered a story or a storyline or a character’s journey that a PG-13, or the tone, or the ratings we’ve been using up to this point has prevented us.”

Marvel’s Wesley Snipes-less reboot of the classic character for the MCU has no director is currently attached. But playwright and writer on HBO’s acclaimed limited series Watchmen, Stacy Osei-Kuffour will pen the script.
