Oscilloscope Laboratories Will Release Grain Entrapment Horror Movie SILO Later This Year

Oscilloscope Laboratories will release Silo, the first-ever horror movie about grain entrapment, later this year. Grain entrapment, or grain engulfment, “occurs when a person becomes submerged in grain and cannot get out without assistance”, according to Wikipedia.

Synopsis:
Disaster strikes in a small American farm town when teenager Cody Rose becomes the victim of a grain entrapment accident. As corn becomes quicksand inside of a 50-foot tall silo, the town locals must put aside their differences to save Cody from drowning in the crop they harvest.

Deadline broke the news, reporting:

“As someone who grew up in NYC loving arthouse cinema, I have admired Oscilloscope’s rich history and incredible taste for my entire producing career,” said Silo producer Samuel Goldberg. “Our goal has always been to use the power of storytelling to inspire empathy and unite people, especially during these divisive times in our country. With the help of Dan and his team, we’ll now be able to platform Silo and its subjects in a profoundly meaningful way.”

Marshall Burnette came up with the idea for Silo and directs from a screenplay penned by Jason Williamson; the film stars Jack DiFalco, Jim Parrack, Jill Paice, Jeremy Holm, Danny Ramirez, and Chris Ellis. Look for Silo to be released sometime in 2021.
