Sony Set to Release Religious Horror THE UNHOLY Starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan in Time for Easter

Editor’s Note: UPDATED on 03/11 to include the trailer. Pitting itself against the March 31st release of Godzilla vs Kong, Sony is set to unleash the religious horror movie The Unholy on Easter Sunday (April 2nd).

Based on the horror novel Shrine by James Herbert, The Unholy is helmed by Evan Spiliotopoulos (who also penned the screenplay). The film is produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Spiliotopoulos and stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Cary Elwes, William Sadler, Katie Aselton, Cricket Brown, and Diogo Morgado.

Synopsis:
A hearing-impaired girl is visited by the Virgin Mary and can suddenly hear, speak, and heal the sick. As people flock to witness her miracles, terrifying events unfold. Are they the work of the Virgin Mary or something much more sinister?

We don’t have a trailer or poster to share at this time, but we’ll keep you posted, so stay tuned and check back often for more info regarding The Unholy!
