Wesley Snipes Has Talked to Marvel About More BLADE
Marvel’s Blade reboot Blade, The Vampire Slayer with Mahershala Ali is in the works. And today, original Daywalker, Wesley Snipes reveals he’s already spoken to Kevin Feige about returning as Blade.
Snipes tells Collider: “We’ve talked, man, and [Feige] always says, ‘Well, you know, we’re thinking about it, we’re trying to figure it out.’ Then one day I saw in the news, and everybody started calling me up saying, ‘Hey, Mahershala [Ali] is going to be playing the new Blade.’ I was like, ‘Well, I guess Kevin didn’t have my number. Okay.’
He adds: “You know, I’m always willing to rock with anyone who wants to rock with me, you know? We’re doing similar work. We have a wonderful product that we will bring to market, and if I can rock with Marvel, that’s great. If I can’t rock with Marvel, all right. You know? I’ll wait by the door. Put on some nice heels and a nice skirt and something. I’ll just wait by the door and say, ‘Hi Kevin.’“

Though many fans were hoping the reboot would be R-rated, Marvel’s Kevin Feige recently revealed Blade, The Vampire Slayer will be PG-13.
Feige said: “Other than Deadpool, which has already established itself as a certain genre and a certain rating, that we already said we would not mess with when we started working on Deadpool – which we have – other than that, we haven’t encountered a story or a storyline or a character’s journey that a PG-13, or the tone, or the ratings we’ve been using up to this point has prevented us.”
Marvel’s Wesley Snipes-less reboot has no director attached. But playwright and writer on HBO’s limited series Watchmen, Stacy Osei-Kuffour will pen the script.
