WALKING DEAD Cast Celebrate Steven Yeun’s Surprise Best Actor Nomination

Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead) has made history this morning as the first Asian American actor to be nominated for the Best Actor at the 2021 Academy Awards.

He’s nominated for his role in Lee Isaac Chung’s Minari. And below you’ll also find reactions from Yeun’s former The Walking Dead co-stars.

And let’s not forget, Yeun also killed it in director Joe Lynch’s action-horror hybrid flick Mayhem with Samara Weaving.

Steven Yeun starred as a guy having a really bad day. After being unjustly fired from his job, he discovers that the law firm’s building is under quarantine for a mysterious and dangerous virus. Chaos erupts throughout the office as the victims of the disease begin acting out their wildest impulses. Joining forces with a former client (Weaving) who has a grudge of her own, he savagely fights tooth and nail to get to the executives on the top floor and settle the score once and for all.

The film sports an 84% over on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus reads: Mayhem delivers stylish violence by the bloody bucketful — and grounds all the titular chaos in sharp humor and surprisingly effective real-world economic angst.

Parisa Caviani produced with Mehrdad Elie, Buddy Enright, Lawrence Mattis, Matt Smith, Sean Sorensen, and also Andjelija Vlaisavljevic.

Congrats, Steven Yeun!
