Scott Westerfeld's Midnighters Trilogy Being Adapted for TelevisionChris Fedak and Josh Schwartz, the creators of cult TV favorite “Chuck,” have set their sights on a new project: “Midnighters,” a drama based on the sci-fi/fantasy book trilogy by Scott Westerfeld.

Fedak is the sole writer on the project, which is being produced by Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s Fake Empire, Alloy Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Television. Fedak, Schwartz and Savage executive produce with Fake Empire’s Len Goldstein and Alloy’s Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo.

The three books, which came out in rapid succession in 2004, 2005, and 2006 via HarperTeen, are entitled The Secret Hour, Touching Darkness, and Blue Noon, respectively. The project has received a script commitment so look for more soon.

The Secret Hour Book Synopsis
A few nights after Jessica Day arrives in Bixby, Oklahoma, she wakes up at midnight to find the entire world frozen, except for her and a few others who call themselves “midnighters.” Dark things haunt this midnight hour – dark things with a mysterious interest in Jessica. The question is why?

The Secret Hour is a compelling tale of dark secrets, midnight romance, eerie creatures, courage, destiny, and unexpected peril.
