Southern California: The Frida Cinema is Hosting a Drive-In Double Feature of KING KONG (1933) and GODZILLA (1954) This Friday 3/19

Los Angeles-area Kaiju fans can prepare for the March 31st release Godzilla vs Kong with a double feature of the films that introduced these titular Titans! King Kong (1933) and Godzilla (1954) will screen at the Drive-In at Tustin’s Mess Hall Market this Friday, March 19th starting at 8:00 PM. You can find full details, HERE.

King Kong (1933) Synopsis:
A film crew discover a gigantic ape on a remote island, and bring the towering beast back to NYC, where it embarks on a terrifying rampage while attempting to protect the movie’s beautiful starlet.

Godzilla (1954) Synopsis:
Godzilla (a.k.a. Gojira) is the roaring granddaddy of all monster movies. It’s also a remarkably humane and melancholy drama, made in Japan at a time when the country was reeling from nuclear attack and H-bomb testing in the Pacific. Its rampaging radioactive beast, the poignant embodiment of an entire population’s fears, became a beloved international icon of destruction, spawning almost thirty sequels.

Synopsis:

Adam Wingard directs Godzilla Vs Kong from a script written by Eric Pearson and Max Borenstein. Terry Rossio, Michael Dougherty, and Zach Shields penned the story based on Godzilla by Toho and King Kong by Edgar Wallace and Merian C. Cooper.
