RELIC Director & John Krasinski Team on New Platinum Dunes Thriller
Paramount Players has snagged Relic director Natalie Erika James and producer John Krasinski (A Quiet Place) to tackle a big new thriller called Apartment 7A.
Plot details are under wraps but the flick is described as a psychological thriller.
James will co-write with Christian White based on a script by Skylar James (Guide To Surviving the Apocalypse). James also penned Lights Out and Annabelle: Creation director David F. Sandberg’s upcoming Netflix fright flick The Unsound.

Allyson Seeger will produce with Krasinski, Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller via Platinum Dunes. Alexa Ginsburg and Alex Ginno are overseeing.
Relic premiered at Sundance and ended up on many best of 2020 lists. And with A Quiet Place: Part II wrapped, Apartment 7A should move into production this year.
James directed Relic from a screenplay she co-wrote with Christian White. It begins when the elderly widow goes missing. Her daughter and granddaughter travel to her remote family home to find her. After she returns, they discover a sinister presence haunting the house and taking control of their mother.
Rated R for some horror violence/disturbing images, and language, the film sports a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: Relic ratchets up its slowly building tension in an expertly crafted atmosphere of dread, adding up to an outstanding feature debut for director/co-writer Natalie Erika James.
James’ Australian fright flick stars Emily Mortimer, Robyn Nevin, and also Bella Heathcote. Jake Gyllenhaal produced with The Russo Brothers (Avengers: Civil Infinity Endgame War) executive producing. It’s currently available on VOD.
