RELATED: Zack Snyder’s ARMY OF THE DEAD Is 100% Finished, New Trailer Coming Soon
My personal favorite Zack Snyder pick is director David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive.
The flick tells the tale of a dark-haired woman (Laura Elena Harring) who is left amnesiac after a car crash. She wanders the streets of Los Angeles in a daze before taking refuge in an apartment. There she is discovered by Betty (Naomi Watts), a wholesome Midwestern blonde who has come to the City of Angels seeking fame as an actress. Together, the two attempt to solve the mystery of Rita’s true identity. The story is set in a dream-like Los Angeles, spoilt neither by traffic jams nor smog.
Rated R for violence, language, and some strong sexuality, it sports an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus reads: David Lynch’s dreamlike and mysterious film is a twisty neo-noir with an unconventional structure with a mesmerizing performance from Naomi Watts as a woman on the dark fringes of Hollywood.

And remember, Zack Snyder’s balls to the wall Las Vegas zombie heist epic will hit Netflix THIS year. Snyder recently confirmed the new trailer is coming soon. The MPAA slapped the movie with an R-rating for strong bloody violence, gore, and language throughout, some sexual content, and brief nudity/graphic nudity.
Snyder says about Army of the Dead: “90% of our zombies are practical. The zombie war, the action sequences, the fighting, [Damon Caro] and I worked hard to create insane zombie mayhem. The thing about the movie that I think will be really exciting for people is the tone. That kind of tone where the movie has fun but doesn’t make fun. I really wanted to make a no holds barred, zombie insanity.”
He adds: “It is a full-blown, balls-to-the-wall zombie heist movie, so it’s genre-on-genre in a great way. So you expect pure zombie mayhem, and you get that, 100 percent. But also you get these really amazing characters on a fantastic journey. It’s going to surprise people that there’s a lot of warmth and real emotion.”
Army of the Dead is said to be a spiritual successor to Dawn of the Dead and follows a group of mercenaries who plot a heist on a Vegas casino during a zombie outbreak.
Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy), Ella Purnell, Ana De La Reguera, Huma Qureshi, Omari Hardwick, Hiroyuki Sanada, Matthias Schweighöfer, Raúl Castillo, Nora Arnezeder, Samantha Win, and Garret Dillahunt (Fear the Walking Dead) star.
