Our Thoughts Go Out to Tom Savini Who Has Now Been in a Car Accident
Tom Savini, horror’s “Guru of Gore” got himself into a messy situation this weekend. The “Master of Splatter” announced that he has been in a car accident, sharing the images below. While the situation is no joke, the caption proves Savini’s sense of humor hasn’t been affected!
Apparently, the collision occurred while he was riding a bike. Savini lives in the Pittsburgh area in the same house he grew up in. He runs the Tom Savini Special Make-Up Effects Program at the Douglas Education Center in Monessen, making Savini a much-loved member of the community.

Savini helmed special effects on Friday the 13th, Dawn of the Dead, Creepshow 2, and many others; he’s also an accomplished actor (From Dusk Till Dawn) and director (Night of the Living Dead 1990).
Savini’s Night of the Living Dead remake film sports a 66% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus reads: Night of the Living Dead doesn’t quite reinvent the original’s narrative, but its sleek action and amplified gore turn it into a worthy horror showcase.
All of us here at Dread Central send Tom our best wishes for a speedy recovery.
