Three different units crew shot the new season in 158 days, in 15 different locations. The show was produced by more than 1200 crew members and 89 cast members.

Anyhow, remember that The Witcher is set on a fictional, medieval-inspired land known as The Continent. It explores the legend of Geralt of Rivia and princess Ciri, who are linked by destiny to each other.

The show initially follows the three main protagonists. We see them at different points of time, exploring formative events that shaped their characters. Then they eventually merging into a single timeline.

Here’s the new season’s synopsis: “Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”

Lauren Schmidt Hissrichbased (Daredevil, The Defenders, The Umbrella Academy) produced based on the book series by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski.

The first season sports a 67% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Critics Consensus that reads: Though the world of The Witcher at times feels only half-formed, Henry Cavill brings brawny charisma to a series teeming with subversive fantasy elements and dark humor.

Netflix hasn’t announced an exact release date for The Witcher Season 2. But at least now we know that it is coming in 2021. Keep checking back and we’ll pass along updates as we hear them. Stay tuned!
