Shudder Now Releasing Bizarre Horror Movie FRIED BARRY on May 7th
South Africa’s Fried Barry was one of the most bizarre and buzzed-about indie horror movies of 2020. Deadline recently reported that Shudder would begin streaming it across multiple territories beginning May 6th. Today, the must-have streaming service for horror fans adjusted the release date to May 7th, 2021.

Synopsis:
Barry is a drug-addled, abusive bastard who – after yet another bender – aliens abduct. Barry takes a backseat as an alien visitor assumes control of his body and takes it for a joyride through Cape Town. What follows is an onslaught of drugs, sex, and violence as our alien tourist enters the weird and wonderful world of humankind. Fried Barry is based upon the short film of the same name, which earned 57 official selections and also 12 wins at festivals around the world.

Ryan Kruger wrote and also directed Fried Barry. Gary Green stars with Chanelle de Jager, and also Brett Williams.
Per Deadline:
“Fried Barry is going to blow people’s minds when it hits Shudder. It’s a bold, creative film from the delightfully demented yet visionary mind of Ryan Kruger and unlike anything else you’ll see this year,” said Craig Engler, general manager of Shudder.
