And today it snagged an R-rating for “some bloody violence, sexual references, and language throughout.” Some bloody violence. Huh. Well, some is better than none.

Based upon the video game where werewolves attack a small town. The flick stars Milana Vayntrub aka Lilly, the adorable salesperson from those AT&T commercials.

Vayntrub’s co-stars include Sam Richardson (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates), George Basil (Flaked), and Sarah Burns (I Love You, Man). Plus, Michael Chernus (Orange Is the New Black), and Catherine Curtin (Stranger Things).

Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows) joins with Rebecca Henderson (Russian Doll) and Cheyenne Jackson (American Horror Story). Plus Michaela Watkins (Brittany Runs a Marathon), and also Glenn Fleshler (True Detective).

Werewolves Within follows this synopsis. After a proposed gas pipeline creates divisions within the small town of Beaverfield, and a snowstorm traps its residents together inside the local inn, newly arrived forest ranger Finn (Sam Richardson) and postal worker Cecily (Milana Vayntrub) must try to keep the peace and uncover the truth behind a mysterious creature that has begun terrorizing the community.

Josh Ruben (Scare Me) directs Werewolves Within from a screenplay written by Mishna Wolff. Margaret Boykin produced with Andrew Lieberman, Matt Miller, Natalie Metzger, and also Benjamin Wiessner. IFC Films will release Werewolves Within in a limited release on June 25, 2021. Followed by VOD on July 2, 2021.
