Disney+ HOCUS POCUS 2 Gets New Director
It’s officially official. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and also Kathy Najimy will return as the Sanderson Sisters in Hocus Pocus 2. But today we hear there’s been a shake-up behind the scenes. Looks like the original director and Adam Shankman will be too busy with his Enchanted sequel Disenchanted. So he’ll turn over the reins to Anne Fletcher (27 Dresses, The Guilt Trip).

Hocus Pocus 2 will begin filming early next year in L.A. and also Massachusetts. Midler, Parker, and also Najimy return as the Sanderson sisters. Fletcher (27 Dresses, The Guilt Trip) directs from a script by Jen D’Angelo (Workaholics).
Midler says: “They presented us with an outline, and after we picked ourselves up off the floor because it’s been 27 years, we looked at it and I think all of us agreed that it was pretty great.”
Kenny Ortega directed Hocus Pocus from a script by Neil Cuthbert and Mick Garris (The Stand). David Kirschner (Child’s Play) produced with Steven Haft.
The original centered on some kids who accidentally frees a coven of evil witches. With the help of a magical cat must steal the witches’ book of spells. And also stop them from becoming immortal. It starred Midler, Najimy, and Parker. Thora Birch also stars with Omri Katz, Vinessa Shaw, Jason Marsden, and Doug Jones.
