Stephen King Recommends New Novel To Scare the Hell Out of You

Looking for something new to read? Well, today The Shining and The Stand author Stephen King has yet another must-read recommendation. This time it’s a new “creepy as hell” supernatural thriller novel that “will scare the hell out of you.”

This time it’s Christopher Golden’s Road of Bones. On the cover blurb, King says: “Tightly wound, atmospheric, and creepy as hell. It will take you to a place you’ve never been before, and the trip will scare the hell out of you. I loved it.”

Here’s his tweet:

The supernatural thriller tells the tale of a small film crew covering an elusive ghost story about the Kolyma highway. That’s a road built on top of the frozen bones of the thousands of prisoners who once traveled to work in the camps of Stalin’s gulag.

Sounds like good scary times to me. I know I’ll be grabbing a copy right after I type this up. I mean how can you turn down a recommendation by the King of Horror himself, Stephen King? No really, I’m unable to. I need help.

This comes on the heels of King recommending Final Girls author Riley Sager’s new suspense thriller Lock Ever Door.

And we discuss his latest work, the novel Residue: Paramentals Rising, which is a sequel to the Netflix show. After learning about his horror history--including a memorable viewing of Night of the Living Dead--we find out why The Haunting terrified him as a twelve year old.
