Toni Collette Joins New HBO Max Series THE STAIRCASE
Toni Collette is one of our favorite actresses at Dread Central. And today we learned she’s joined Colin Firth (The Kingsman) in the new HBO Max series The Staircase.

Antonio Campos will adapt the show based on the hit docuseries about American novelist Michael Peterson (Firth), his sprawling North Carolina family, and the suspicious death of his wife, Kathleen Peterson (Collette), a corporate executive and mother/stepmother of five.
The eight-episode limited series hails from Campos and Maggie Cohn. They will also serve as executive producers and showrunners on The Staircase. Campos will direct six of the eight episodes. Annapurna Television produces with HBO Max.
Collette is best known for roles in genre films such as The Sixth Sense, Hereditary, Stowaway, and I’m Thinking of Ending Things. Up next for Collette is director Guillermo del Toro’s Nightmare Alley.

The psychological thriller follows an ambitious young carny (Bradley Cooper) with a talent for manipulating people. With a few well-chosen words hooks up with a female psychiatrist (Cate Blanchett) who is even more dangerous than he is.
