Horror History: Happy Birthday to the Man of Steel Himself, Henry Cavill!
On this day in horror history, Henry Cavill was born in Saint Helier, Jersey in 1983. He is best known, perhaps, as Clark Kent / Superman in Zack Synder’s action trilogy Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League.

Henry Cavill’s genre contributions include Hellraiser: Hellworld and Blood Creek.
He has also starred in films such as The Count of Monte Cristo, Tristan & Isolde, and Stardust. Not to mention Immortals, The Cold Light of Day, and Night Hunter.
Plus big-budget action hits like The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Mission: Impossible – Fallout. He also played Sherlock Holmes in Netflix’s recent hit flick Enola Holmes.
But I think he’s now best know for his role in Netflix’s The Witcher. It’s set on a fictional, medieval-inspired land known as The Continent. It explores the legend of Geralt of Rivia and princess Ciri, who are linked by destiny to each other.
Here’s the new season’s synopsis: “Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
The first season sports a 67% on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus: Though the world of The Witcher at times feels only half-formed, Henry Cavill brings brawny charisma to a series teeming with subversive fantasy elements and dark humor.
