Produced by Fede Alvarez, Texas Chainsaw Massacre is slated for release sometime in 2021. David Blue Garcia directs the new film from a screenplay written by Chris Thomas Devlin. Elsie Fisher stars along with Sarah Yarkin, Moe Dunford, and Alice Krige. Jacob Latimore joins with Nell Hudson, Jessica Allain, Sam Douglas, William Hope, and also Jolyon Coy.
Olwen Fouéré (Mandy, Sea Fever) takes over the role of original Sally and Mark Burnham (Lowlife) plays the new Leatherface.
So how did the test audience react to the film? Well, not great. But before you throw your hands up in despair, it’s important to remember that test screenings are a normal part of the post-production process. Producers use feedback to fine-tune the final product, taking viewer feedback into consideration. So the issues the test audience reported could likely be remedied before Texas Chainsaw Massacre gets its official release.
