Horror History: Happy Birthday, to the Lord of Salem Herself, Meg Foster!
On this day in horror history, genre legend and scream queen royalty Meg Foster was born in Reading, Pennsylvania in 1948. Foster is best known around here for her roles in John Carpenter’s They Live. And Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem and 31.

Her other genre contributions include Leviathan, Stepfather II, The Osterman Weekend, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Minus Man, and Jeepers Creepers 3.
Most recently she starred in producer J.J. Abrams’ WWII horror movie Overlord.
She has also starred in some of TV’s best horror sci-fi shows such as Night Gallery, The Twilight Zone, and Twin Peaks. Other classic shows she graced with her presence include Mod Squad, Bonanza, The Six Million Dollar Man, Hawaii Five-O, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, and Xena: Warrior Princess.
And let’s not forget her role as Evil-lyn in Canon’s 1980s version of Masters of the Universe. Her co-stars included Dolph Lundgren, Frank Langella, Jon Cypher, Chelsea Field, Billy Barty, Courteney Cox, and Robert Duncan McNeill.
But my personal favorite just might be writer-director Rob Zombie’s semi-new nightmare The Lords of Salem. Meg Foster starred as the main villain, an evil witch resurrected in modern-day, you guessed it, Salem, MA. She stalks Sheri Moon Zombie from room to room, hanging out in the shadows, naked af. Meanwhile, her disciples, Judy Geeson, Patricia Quinn, Dee Wallace plan for some seriously Satanic shit.
What’s your favorite Meg Foster movie?
