Desiree Gould aka Aunt Martha from Sleepaway Camp has passed away at 76.

Felissa Rose passed along the news over on Twitter.

She writes: “My heart is heavy. Today we lost a Sleepaway Camp family member. We all love you, Desiree Gould. Thank you for creating such a charismatic and memorable character! Aunt Martha will be forever remembered. Condolences to all your family and friends.”

Her other roles in the 1979 TV movie You Can’t Go Home Again, Under Surveillance (2006), Caesar and Otto Meet Dracula’s Lawyer (2010), and Tales of Poe (2014).

IMDb says: During her long hiatus after Sleepaway Camp, had become a real estate agent but remained open to the idea of acting again.

Synopsis:
A young girl is sent to a summer camp that becomes the site of a series of murders shortly after her arrival.

The film sports a 77% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus: A standard teen slasher elevated by occasional moments of John Waters-esque weirdness and a twisted ending.
