Mike Flanagan's OculusFormer “Doctor Who” regular Karen Gillan is busy filming Mike Flangan’s Oculus and as an early holiday treat has posted the first photo from the set, captioning it “spooky!”

Gillan appears in the photo, which she tweeted earlier today, with lead actor Brenton Thwaites. Gillan and Thwaites co-star in the film with Rory Cochrane, Katee Sackhoff. Annalise Basso, and Garrett Ryan along with James Lafferty and Miguel Sandoval. Oculus is directed by Mike Flanagan from a script he co-wrote with Jeff Howard.

The plot begins a decade after a terrifying family incident left two young children orphans. Although her brother was charged with murder, Kaylie (Gillen) is convinced a haunted antique mirror is the real perpetrator and years later wants prove that the mirror was responsible for destroying their family.

FilmDistrict is handling U.S. distribution, and international sales are being handled by Focus Features International.
