Stephen King Recommends “Unbearably Suspenseful” Hidden Gem on Netflix

Looking for something new to watch tonight? Well, how about taking a recommendation from the master of horror himself Stephen King (and all of us here at Dread Central), and check out a killer hidden gem on Netflix.

It’s called The Clovehitch Killer and the 2018 post-serial killer thriller stars Dylan McDermott, Charlie Plummer, Samantha Mathis, and Madisen Beaty.

Stephen King tweets: “Sometimes an excellent small movie falls through the cracks. That’s the case with THE CLOVEHITCH KILLER (Netflix). I found it unbearably suspenseful. Your mileage may vary, but be warned. Not for the faint of heart.”

I reviewed the film back in 2018 and found it to be a twisted ride, for sure. Plus, Dylan McDermott turns in what is perhaps the best performance in his career – and young Charlie Plummer is no slouch either. So if you’re into more character-driven, slow-burn thrillers, make sure to check out the underappreciated 2018 thriller over on Netflix ASAP.

Synopsis:
A picture-perfect family is torn apart after Tyler finds a cache of disturbing images in his father’s possession. He begins to suspect that the man he trusts most in the world may be responsible for the murder of 13 girls ten years prior.

Duncan Skiles directed The Clovehitch Killer from a screenplay written by Christopher Ford.
