Original Star Teases GREMLINS 3 Is Still a Strong Possibility

It’s been a while since we last heard anything on a third Gremlins movie. But today we wanted to pass along word that original star Corey Feldman tells us here at Dread Central, that he recently talked to director Joe Dante and it looks like Gremlins 3 is still a very strong possibility.

Corey Feldman tells Dread Central: “That I think is a lot stronger of a possibility at this point. I did speak with Joe Dante a couple of months ago […] And he did say that there is some pretty strong will to get a third Gremlins movie made. I don’t know if he will be helming it at this point or not but he has certainly be involved as a creative consultant on the animated series [Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai ].”

Gremlins synopsis:
A gadget salesman is looking for a special gift for his son and finds one at a store in Chinatown. The shopkeeper is reluctant to sell him the `mogwai’ but sells it to him with the warning to never expose him to bright light, water, or to feed him after midnight. All of this happens and the result is a gang of gremlins that decide to tear up the town on Christmas Eve.

Gremlins 2: The New Batch synopsis:
The magical collectibles store that Gizmo calls home has just been destroyed, and the tiny monster finds his way into a newly erected skyscraper. Billy Peltzer (Zach Galligan) and his bride-to-be, Kate (Phoebe Cates), who have previously dealt with Gremlins run amok, discover that Gizmo and an impish legion of reptilian pals are inhabiting the downtown building. The couple tries to stop the creatures from escaping into New York City, but this new batch of beasts might be uncontrollable.
