A24’s DISAPPOINTMENT BLVD Adds 4 New Cast Members

A24 seems to always be making horror movies. “A24 horror” has become it’s own genre over the last few years. If you were to thank anyone for that it would be Ari Aster. Aster has directed both Hereditary and Midsommar, two of the creepiest films in years. I’d argue that those two films put A24 on the horror map. Recently, Aster has been working on Disappointment Blvd for A24. We’ve got news that he’s bringing in some insanely good talent to star with film lead Joaquin Phoenix.

Broadway funnyman Nathan Lane, along with Patti LuPone, Amy Ryan, and Kylie Rogers are all on board. Aster hasn’t talked much about Disappointment Blvd, and A24 isn’t letting anything slip. The plot details are non-existent, but we do have a small synopsis.

Synopsis:
An intimate, decades-spanning portrait of one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time.

So sparse. So very sparse. We don’t even know for sure if it will have horror elements. Horror is Aster’s bread and butter though, so it would be a big departure if it was a straight drama. I’m there for it either way, honestly. Lane can be seen in Showtime’s Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. LuPone has been all over Broadway lately, but can be seen in Ryan Murphy’s Netflix series Hollywood. Ryan can be found, along with Lane, in Hulu’s upcoming series Only Murders in the Building. Rogers can be seen in Paramount’s Yellowstone.

Are you ready for Disappointment Blvd? How have Ari Aster’s films stuck with you, if at all? I know Hereditary is a real white-knuckler. Join the conversation in the comments. You can find us on Instagram and Twitter @DreadCentral, as well as on Facebook. I’m Jans. I write news. You can tell me how much you liked Hereditary on Twitter @HorrorPlayed.
