Quentin Tarantino Briefly Thought of Remaking RESERVOIR DOGS
It seems I always end up writing the news about reboots. I see that people are definitely…conflicted, about classic films being rebooted (especially something like Reservoir Dogs). This one though, comes from a rather odd place. Quentin Tarantino was recently on Real Time with Bill Maher. Tarantino explained that he was definitely going to quit after his 10th film. His 9th film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, was a hit, bringing in droves of people. Maher, like me, was skeptical and pushed Tarantino on the issue.

Synopsis:
Six criminals with pseudonyms, and each strangers to one another, are hired to carry out a robbery. The heist is ambushed by police and the gang are forced to shoot their way out. At their warehouse rendezvous, the survivors, realising that they were set up, try to find the traitor in their midst.
“Don Siegel: if he had quit his career in 1979 when he did Escape from Alcatraz – what a final film! What a mic drop! But he dribbles away with two more other ones, he doesn’t mean it.”
Maher pushed Tarantino further on the issue by bringing up Clint Eastwood. Eastwood is currently, by my estimation, 100 years old and still making decent movies. Tarantino admitted that Eastwood is the rare exception to the rule. The biggest bombshell from the sit down by far was his admission that he considered rebooting 1992’s Reservoir Dogs.
“I’ve actually considered making a remake of Reservoir Dogs as my last movie. I won’t do it, internet! But I considered it.”
I don’t think I would mind a remake. I think it’s cool when a director can go back and revisit something they’ve made. Even if he did make it, I don’t think any of us could complain. I’m sure we would though. What about you? Would you like a remake of Reservoir Dogs? Join the conversation in the comments or on Instagram and Twitter @DreadCentral. We’re also on Facebook. I’m Jans. I write news. You can come yell at me about reboot news on Twitter @HorrorPlayed.
