“Dissecting Horror” Continues July 6th with a Brand New Episode Featuring the Creatives of TOO LATE
The next installment of the “Dissecting Horror” digital panel series will take place Tuesday, July 6th, at 6 pm PST and will be with the creative talent from Gravitas Ventures’ Too Late.

Synopsis:
Set in the Los Angeles indie comedy scene, the pic centers on Violet, who works a thankless job as the assistant to Bob Devore, famed comedian and host of the live variety show Too Late. But what only Violet knows is that Bob is a monster both literally and figuratively. Resigned to her fate, Violet is caught by surprise when she meets aspiring comedian Jimmy Rhodes and sparks fly. But as her feelings for Jimmy grow and Bob starts to doubt her loyalty, she and Jimmy could end up as Bob’s next meal.
Too Late is the debut feature film from director D.W. Thomas and writer Tom Becker. It stars Alyssa Limperis (Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun), Ron Lynch (Bob’s Burgers, Adventure Time), Will Weldon (Comedy Central’s This Isn’t Happening), Mary Lynn Rajskub (24, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Fred Armisen (SNL, Portlandia), Jenny Zigrino (Bad Santa 2, 50 Shades of Black), Jack De Sena (Avatar: The Last Airbender), and Brooks Wheelan (SNL).
Panelists include director D.W. Thomas, composer Mikel Hurwitz, production designer Sam Slosburg, and two of the film’s stars: Alyssa Limperis (Violet Fields) and Ron Lynch (Bob Devore). Too Late is out now.

Dread Central and Jordan von Netzer of Projection PR launched “Dissecting Horror” on April 15th, 2020 with a panel focused on horror film scores. Since then, they have produced panels spotlighting stunt coordinators, composers, visual/special effects and the creatives behind Followed, Cruiser, 12 Hour Shift, Don’t Look Back, Hunter Hunter, Willy’s Wonderland, Wrong Turn, Dreamcatcher, Making Monsters, The Banishing, Initiation, The Djinn, and Parallel.
ABOUT THE PANELISTS:
D.W. THOMAS (Director)
D.W. Thomas is a feature film director. She had her start editing films for the indie production company Cineville International known for Mi Vida Loca, Gas Food Lodging, and Swimming with Sharks. She has produced and edited behind-the-scenes segments for studios including NBC, Disney, Marvel, and Pixar. Her feature film directorial debut Too Late will be premiered on June 25th in theaters and on-demand.
MIKEL HURWITZ (Composer)
Mikel is a composer, organizer of sounds, and a storyteller.
Mikel’s credits include: Too Late (Fred Armisten, Mary Lynn Rajskub); Just My Type (Rachel Skarsten), From Friend to Fiancée and Love in the Sun (Hallmark); Up There (Indy Feature), a dark comedy about the fallout after a shooting in northern Michigan; Gentefied (Digital Series), a Latinx comedy about gentrification in Boyle Heights, CA; Dr. Baseball: Ron Taylor (Documentary), a world series-winning pitcher retires to become a team doctor.
Mikel worked as Danny Elfman’s assistant in the music departments of The Grinch, Dumbo, Justice League, and Girl on the Train; he has been an additional writer on The Boy From Medellin (Amazon).
Mikel also holds multiple credits as an album producer, engineer, studio musician, band-leader.
SAM SLOSBURG (Production Designer)
Sam is a production designer hailing from Kansas City where he studied experimental film under Caitlin Horsmon at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in addition to theatrical direction under Theodore Swetz, a student of Stella Adler. Recent collaborators include Meiko Arquillos, Cody Pickens, Dylan Coulter, and Ross Silverman. He is currently CEO of a cannabis startup based in Arizona called Delta 8 Oils focused on pain management options with full spectrum delta 8 THC products.
ALYSSA LIMPERIS (Violet Fields)
Alyssa is an actress, writer, and comedian. She can next be seen starring in the independent horror/comedy feature Too Late opposite Ron Lynch, Mary Lynn Rajskub, and Fred Armisen. The film premiered theatrically and on VOD on June 25th.
The viral success of her comedy videos has led to recognition from Vulture, Decider, Forbes, among other top tier media outlets. She has made character videos for Conde Nast’s The Scene and Iris platforms, and has been featured on Conan, Last Week Tonight, Ellentube, Aunty Donna’s House (Netflix), MTV, and Fox Sports. She is the lead in the short film “Brandi Finds God” from Gonzalo Cordova, and also shot the feature film Just Chicken alongside Josh Ruben and voices multiple characters on the Spotify podcast The Last Degree of Kevin Bacon.
Limperis has written for The New York Times, Into the Gloss, Riposte Magazine, and Reductress. She was named Best Online Sketch Performer by the New York Times in 2019.
On stage, she has starred in the NYC UCB Maude house team “The Gift” as well as the sketch team “All Female Reboot” directed by Liz Magee. She has performed her solo show, about losing her father to brain cancer, at PVD Fringe, Cinderblock Festival, The Tank, The PIT, and Improv Boston. Her play Wake Up, co-written with Shannon Odell, was a semi-finalist in the New York New Works Festival and was put on at UCB to much acclaim. Her UCB podcast Crazy; in Bed, co-hosted with May Wilkerson, is a comedic look at mental health where they are joined by comedians, journalists, artists, doctors, and more to help shine a light on the things people usually keep hidden.
RON LYNCH (Bob Devore)
Ron Lynch has been performing comedy for over four decades and is considered one of the forefathers of alternative comedy. Ron studied theater in New York and improvisation at Second City Chicago. His credits include Corporate, Portlandia, Another Period, The Sarah Silverman Program (he played all the doctors), Conan, Andy Richter Controls the Universe, and several sitcom appearances. His voice can be heard as reoccurring characters on Bob’s Burgers, Adventure Time, Word Girl, Dr. Katz, Tim and Eric, and the cult favorite, Home Movies, where he was Mr. Lynch.
Presently, he is the host/producer of the popular “Tomorrow!” variety show in Hollywood, now in its sixteenth year.
