THE LAST OF US: HBO Original Adds Nico Parker
The Last of Us, based on the hit video game, is picking up steam at HBO. We’ve got news today that Nico Parker (Dumbo) is joining the video game adaption. She joins Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, and Gabriel Luna. Parker will play Pascal’s daughter in the series. For those of you that played the game, we know that Joel’s daughter isn’t a very longstanding character. Either way, HBO is looking for quality by absolutely packing the show with big-name actors.

Synopsis:
From Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin and series creator Neil Druckmann, The Last of Us takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.
Parker’s first big role in Hollywood came as Colin Farrell’s daughter in Disney’s remake of Dumbo. She was also on HBO’s The Third Day. You can see her next in Warner Bros’ Reminiscence, where she stars opposite her real-life mother, Thandie Newton.
I’m excited about this adaptation of the game. I never got around to playing the second game, but knowing television, if this series runs long enough, it will have to start pulling material from it. I should probably get on that quick and in a hurry so the show doesn’t spoil me.
