Back in late June, we shared the brutal trailer for Don’t Breathe 2 (directed by Rodo Sayagues from a screenplay he co-wrote with original Don’t Breathe director Fede Alvarez). Now, we have the official poster for Don’t Breathe 2 to share with you all–and it’s smashing! (Pun intended!). Check it out at the bottom of the article!

Synopsis:
In Don’t Breathe, Norman Nordstrom (Stephen Lang) was underestimated by everyone because of his blindness: he revealed an unflinching will to survive and get what he wants… but also a monstrous, evil side of his personality, as nothing – no person or conscience – will stand in his way. Now, in Don’t Breathe 2, eight years later, Nordstrom lives with 11-year-old Phoenix; he has recreated the family that was stolen from him by a drunk driver and has found the twisted justice he’s always felt was his due. When intruders once again come to his home, this time focused on Phoenix, Norman will reveal for a second time what’s hidden inside him… and again, it will be in new and unexpected ways.

The 2016 thriller Don’t Breathe shocked and thrilled audiences as it played with the very idea of whom moviegoers were supposed to be rooting for. The movie introduced audiences to Norman Nordstrom (Stephen Lang): three teenagers invade his home to take his money, but unwittingly reveal that the home is really a trap for dark secrets. Norman unveils hidden skills as a killing machine to fend them off, but just when you’re comfortable rooting for a blind man to defend his home and himself, Norman’s own monstrous deeds are brought to light – and moviegoers find themselves rooting for the teenage thieves they’d previously written off. “In Don’t Breathe, it’s hard to know who the good guys are, who’s morally corrupt, who’s really evil,” says Fede Alvarez, who directed the first film and co-wrote with Rodo Sayagues. “We tried just to give the facts about what characters do, and create a complex situation where the audiences was at odds.”

With Don’t Breathe 2, the filmmakers shift protagonists again. “It came out of a place of trying to surprise ourselves and the audience,” says Alvarez, who reteams with Sayagues to again co-write the sequel, then “changes seats” (in Alvarez’s words) as Sayagues takes on directing duties. “We didn’t want to do a sequel where it was ‘the same again, bigger.’ We are telling a completely different story that poses the same questions – how does the audience feel about this character and what he’s doing. Like any good thriller, it’s a riddle – every scene is a clue, and you have to put it together.”
