Blood Conscious follows Kevin, his older sister, Brittney, and her fiancé, Tony as they head to their parents’ lakeside cottage for a weekend getaway. Little do they expect the horror that awaits them.
Their holiday turns into a trip from hell as they walk in to a scene of mass murder. They discover that their parents and neighbors on this side of the lake all lie dead.
Terror strikes when an armed murderer confronts them; claiming to be fighting the demonic forces possessing the lakeside residents. They pin him down and lock him up in the cellar; but soon he claims that he is not alone down there.
As unexpected and traumatic events keep unfolding, they will have to find a way to survive the night without turning on each other, or becoming possessed.
Blood Conscious had its world premiere at the Kosmoroma Trondheim International Film Festival in March, receiving outstanding reviews.
“Creepy, well-played, smart and original… a breath of fresh air in the well-known genre of cabin horror that takes paths you might not expect.”
“A confident film, with an abundance of quality moments and surprising twists. A little gem that seamlessly follows on from successes such as Get Out (2017) and Us (2019), the film also contains strong undertones of the American race debate… an impressive, mature feature film from debutant director Timothy Covell, who right from the get go throws us a curveball with this gripping horror thriller.”
