Ice Nine Kills Announce New Album With AMERICAN PSYCHO-inspired Single
Horror fanatics Ice Nine Kills announce their next album The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood. A follow-up to their 2018 chart-topper The Silver Scream, the record is set for an October 15th release via Fearless Records.
The first single “Hip to Be Scared” comes paired with a fun and gory music video recreating a number of violent scenes from American Psycho. The song features Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach who appears in the video as the character of Paul.
The single pays homage to Huey Lewis and the News track “Hip to be Square” which plays during an infamous scene from American Psycho. Ice Nine Kills recreate this moment and it’s magnificent.
Horror fans understand sequels are inevitable. Frontman Spencer Charnas has this to say about the next chapter:
“True to horror franchise tradition, there is always a sequel…”The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood” follows in the bloody footsteps of its predecessor, paying tribute to 13 more of the most gruesome tales to ever grace the silver screen. In this latest INK offering, the last album and video series is portrayed as a work of fiction. The new story line thrusts the band into a brutal “real world” slaying.
INK are not strangers to detailed horror movie references. For instance, singles IT is the End and Jason’s Mom give horror the respect it deserves and we are here for it.
With over 70 million views on YouTube, the band is firmly one of modern metal’s most vicious forces. Their record The Silver Scream spawned the Top 10 Mainstream Rock single “A Grave Mistake” and Top 20 hit “Savages.”
