EXCLUSIVE: IN SEARCH OF DARKNESS Creator Shares Update on Third Film
If you have yet to see In Search of Darkness I & II you need to clear eight hours from your schedule immediately. This franchise literally sits down with the most exciting voices in the history of horror. Plus, it’s available on Shudder for easy viewing.
Following the success of the follow-up, In Search of Darkness II, creator David Weiner has offered us a quick update on the third installment of this iconic series. This is what David had to say about the upcoming third film:
“I am very much looking forward to embarking on the final-chapter journey of our ’80s horror documentary trilogy, In Search of Darkness: Part III. With so much ground to cover, we’ll be diving deep into the underbelly of the genre with another extended-length superdoc — and we are saving the best for last. Stay tuned to our @80sHorrorDoc socials on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook for new announcements about the project from CreatorVC as we crawl closer and closer to our favorite month, October!”
While we already have hours and hours of content already, is it greedy to still want more? Good thing we have a third entry to look forward to in the coming year.
For now, you can check out the first two docs to tide you over until the next one hits Shudder.
In Search of Darkness
The first film captures all-new interviews with the likes of John Carpenter (Halloween, The Thing), Mick Garris (Critters 2, The Stand), Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, From Beyond), Cassandra Peterson (horror host, “Elvira, Mistress of the Dark”), Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Joe Dante (Gremlins, The Howling), Kane Hodder (Jason Voorhees), Tom Holland (Fright Night), among countless others.
Currently, series creator David Weiner is hard at work creating a sister documentary: In Search of Tomorrow. This is sure to be the definite 80s Sci-Fi documentary. If it looks anything like its horror counterpart, then it’s also going to be an excellent use of my weekend.
