Rob Zombie Now Teases Herman’s Look in Latest Update From THE MUNSTERS

Zombie is back with more pre-production updates from his latest feature film, The Munsters! The director has once again taken to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes images — this time giving us a sneak peek at Herman Munter’s classique visage.

If you’ve been following Dread Central lately, you know this isn’t the first tease Rob Zombie has shared with his followers this month. The shock rocker-turned-filmmaker has been on a roll, teasing everything from construction blueprints to costume designs, and even a short production design video.

Today the trend continues. Rob Zombie has posted the face and forehead sculpt for Herman Munster, the patriarch of the Munster clan.

Check it out:

Herman was originally played by the late great Fred Gwynne (Pet Sematary) in the first series, which lasted for two seasons. The family-friendly sitcom premiered on NBC back in 1964. While the original run of the franchise was short-lived, it went on to produce countless television specials and the 1981 spin-off The Munsters Today

Zombie’s latest take on The Munsters will also mark the first film in the franchise since Munsters, Go Home! In 1966. The original cast of The Munsters featured Fred Gwynne, Yvonne de Carlo, Beverly Owen, Butch Patrick and Al Lewis as Grandpa Munster.

Lastly, The Munsters will head to theaters and streamer Peacock sometime in 2022.

Synopsis from the 1964 series:

A family of friendly monsters have misadventures, never quite understanding why people react to them so strangely.
