What if Vincent Price and Christopher Lee Were GHOSTBUSTERS?
What if… Ghostbusters was a 1950s gothic horror movie?
With the release of Marvel’s What If…? on Disney+ in just two days, we can’t help but imagine alternative reality horror. It looks like we’re not alone. The good people over at SpectreVision (the madhouse behind Mandy, A Girl Walks Alone At Night, Color Out of Space) are asking all the right questions.
SpectreVision took to Twitter to post Peter Stults’ retro alternate reality poster for Ghostbusters and it’s wild as hell.
Check out the Ghostbusters alternative reality poster:
The tight poster is a full-blown mood. It features Vincent Price, Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, and Woody Strode as the titular team of spectral inspectors. It also features Joan Crawford as Gozer, Donald Pleasance as The Keymaster, and Honor Blackman as The Gatekeeper, respectfully.
Subsequently, the retro mockup hails from graphic designer and illustrator Peter Stults. Stults is famous on Twitter for designing outrageous and retro What If? movie posters. He’s definitely worth the follow.
However, this isn’t the only Ghostbusters reamagining to look forward to. Jason Reitman’s upcoming reboot of the series looks like it’s taking things in a different, rural direction this November.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife will also see the return of the original Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2 cast including Bill Murray as Peter Venkman, Dan Aykroyd as Raymond Stantz, Ernie Hudson as Winston Zeddemore, Sigourney Weaver as Dana Barrett, and Annie Potts as Janine Melnitz.
Synopsis:
When a single mother and her two children move to a new town, they soon discover that they have a connection to the original Ghostbusters and their grandfather’s secret legacy.
