WATCH: New MALIGNANT TV Spot Unveils House of Horrors
James Wan is back with Malignant, a new tale of terror dropping on September 10th from Warner and New Line. It will also see a release on HBO Max the very same day.
To further whet our appetites for Malignant, Warner has delivered a brand new television teaser. This puppy calls back to earlier Wan efforts like Insidious and The Conjuring with the auteur’s dramatic bird-eye views of gothic horror. If the first trailer felt heavier on crime, this one leans healthily back into Wan’s penchant for intimate spooks.
Take a look at the brand new footage
Malignant has cast Annabelle Wallis (Annabelle, The Mummy), Maddie Hasson (Mr. Mercedes), George Young (Containment), Michole Briana White (Dead to Me), Jacqueline McKenzie (Palm Beach), Jake Abel (Supernatural) and Ingrid Bisu (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, The Nun).
Synopsis
In the film, Madison is paralyzed by shocking visions of grisly murders, and her torment worsens as she discovers that these waking dreams are in fact terrifying realities.
James Wan directed Malignant from a screenplay via Akela Cooper (the upcoming The Nun 2), with a story by Wan & Ingrid Bisu and Cooper. The movie was made by Wan and Michael Clear, with Eric McLeod, Judson Scott, Bisu, Peter Luo, Cheng Yang, Mandy Yu and Lei Han all acting as executive producers.
Also, Malignant has been rated R for strong horror violence and gruesome images, and for language.
What have you thought about both trailers? Will Malignant be a return to scary form for James Wan?
