Animated Special ‘LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales’ Arriving On Disney+ In October
Things are about to get creepy in the galaxy far, far away, because a new horror-themed animated special called LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales will be coming to Disney+ in October.
The non-canon animated adventure will take place shortly after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. The tale begins when Poe Dameron and his trusty droid BB-8 are forced to land on the volcanic planet Mustafar. Sound familiar? That’s where Darth Vader received the injuries which forced him to wear a cybernetic suit several decades earlier. While on Mustafar, Poe and BB-8 decide to explore Darth Vader’s foreboding castle, which is being converted into a hotel by its new owner, Graballa the Hutt. Along the way, Darth Vader’s former attendant, Vaneé, tells a series of spooky stories to keep the group entertained.
As if Vaneé’s stories were not scary enough, the group soon discovers an ancient evil lurking deep within the castle, which threatens to destroy anything which crosses its path. It sounds like LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales is directly inspired by the acclaimed canon Tales from Vader’s Castle comic series from IDW Publishing, and needless to say, Star Wars fans are in for a real treat this Halloween season.

A chilling poster for the animated special was also released on the official Star Wars website. The poster shows a hand wielding a red lightsaber emerging from a grave, and we just love how the Death Star is used in the place of a full moon. None of the actors from previous films will be reprising their roles, but it has been confirmed that Jake Green, Tony Hale, Dana Snyder, Raphael Alejandro, Christian Slater, Trevor Devall, and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn will all be lending their voices to the special.
Ken Cunningham directed LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales, with David Shayne providing the script. It was produced by Lucasfilm and Atomic Cartoons, and it will hit Disney+ on October 1, 2021.
