Some possible casting news is already coming out of the European Film Market as Deadline is reporting that Charlize Theron is circling the lead in the adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s novel Dark Places. Read on for details.
If signed, Theron will play Libby Day, a woman who, at seven years old, survived the brutal massacre of her family and testified against her brother as the murderer. Twenty-five years later the Kill Club, a secret society obsessed with solving notorious crimes, bring her in to question and confront the truth of what took place that day.
Amy Adams was once up for the same part, but obviously that did not happen. Gilles Paquet-Brenner will direct from his script. Paquet-Brenner had the highest grossing North American foreign language release last year with Sarah’s Key.
