Watch The Trailer For ‘The Guilty’ Starring Jake Gyllenhaal
Jake Gyllenhaal (Donnie Darko, Nightcrawler) now teams up with filmmaker Antoine Fuqua and writer Nic Pizzolatto. They’ve announced the Netflix forthcoming edge-of-your-seat thriller The Guilty. This project is an American adaptation of a Danish thriller that made waves in 2018. We’ve now got our hands on the trailer and poster from Netflix, check them out below.
The Guilty will make its world debut at the Toronto International Film Festival next month before hitting theatres and Netflix in the following weeks. This timeline makes me wonder if Netflix has their eyes on stirring up some Oscar buzz for this title.

Also, just yesterday, star Jake Gyllenhaal took to Instagram to deliver the first teaser for the ominous thriller. The actor’s post asked users to uncover the mystery behind The Guilty by calling a mysterious phone number. This same number was also seen in skywriting above Los Angeles the very same day. It read:

According to Netflix, audiences were encouraged to discover the thrilling mystery of The Guilty by calling a phone number and hearing the first heart-stopping phone call between 911 operator Joey Baylor and a cryptic woman named Emily. Whether by looking at the sky in LA and OC, or following clues on Instagram, fans could dive into the world of The Guilty. She’s getting real creative promoting this one. Seems like Netflix may think they have a hit on their hands with this one.
The film itself takes place over the course of a single morning in a 911 dispatch call center. Call operator Joe Baylor (Gyllenhaal) tries to save a caller in grave danger—but he soon discovers that nothing is as it seems, and facing the truth is the only way out.
