It’s been a long while since last there was anything to report on the much talked about reboot of The Crow, but a rather juicy bit of possible casting news has begun making the rounds around the interwebs.
Bloody Disgusting is reporting that James McAvoy (X-Men: First Class, Wanted) is circling Relativity’s proposed remake. In the past every name from Bradley Cooper to Mark Wahlberg was being thrown around, but this… this we can see being a good fit.
F. Javier Gutierrez is still attached to direct from a screenplay by Jesse Wigutow. Brandon Lee made the franchise famous when he starred in the 1994 adaptation directed by Alex Proyas.
The Crow adaptation will be a gritty reboot of the iconic character Eric Draven, who returns from the grave as The Crow on a mission to avenge his wife’s murder so that his soul can finally rest. The original film is known for its breakthrough visual style as well as its unique production design and cinematography.
The project is currently in development with the start of production, targeted release dates, and casting to be announced.
