Dread Central Announces New Editor-In-Chief And Managing Editor

Dread Central has been going through a lot of change these past few months. We took a step back to look at our content and think about how it functions within the horror community. We want to support and uplift voices in horror, from writers to filmmakers, to create a thoughtful yet entertaining space where we publish deep dive editorials and fun listicles; pieces about hidden horror gems and news pieces about upcoming releases, big-budget and indie alike. Dread Central is a staple publication in this community. We want to uphold that legacy while expanding our scope in what it means to love the genre.

To achieve that goal, we’re making a few exciting changes to our editorial staff. Mary Beth McAndrews will be Dread Central’s new Editor-in-Chief. She was previously the site’s content manager, taking the lead on shifting our editorial strategy. She also curated a team of talented staff writers, columnists, and freelancers who have contributed an incredible range of articles. Her goal is to continue to create a unique and welcoming space in the world of horror that honors a genre that means so much to her, our writers, and our community.

Josh Korngut will be stepping into the role of Managing Editor. Previously serving as a news writer and culture editor for Dread Central, he’ll have a pivotal and crucial part in curating our daily content. He’ll also be working closely with the Dread Podcast Network. Josh comes from a creative background in filmmaking, marketing and podcasting.

Thank you to all of our readers whose continued support makes our success possible. These new changes are being made to both honor that, as well as usher in a new wave of readers who will hopefully stick around for years to come.
