[Trailer] ‘A Banquet’ Serves Up A Twisted Dish Of Upsetting Psychological Horror

A brand new course of terror is on its way from IFC Midnight and director Ruth Paxton. A Banquet will see release on February 18th, 2022.

A Banquet sees widowed mother Holly (Sienna Guillory) radically tested when her teenage daughter Betsey (Jessica Alexander) experiences a profound enlightenment and insists that her body is no longer her own, but in service to a higher power. Uh oh. Bound to her newfound faith, Betsey refuses to eat but loses no weight. Torn between love and fear, Holly confronts the boundaries of her own beliefs.

The twisted horror debut stars Sienna Guillory, Jessica Alexander, Ruby Stokes, and Lindsay Duncan as an intimate and heartbreaking ensemble.

Take a look at the gorgeous and grotesque trailer for A Banquet:

First time director Ruth Paxton has been a creative to watch ever since graduating from Screen Academy Scotland. Additionally, in 2019 Screen Daily featured her as one of ‘Six emerging Scotland based Directors you need to know.’ A Banquet is Ruth’s debut feature, a psychological horror produced by Tea Shop Productions and Riverstone Pictures. The film is represented by HanWay Films, and was recently acquired by IFC Films for North America. It was selected for the Great 8 showcase at Cannes Marche presented by BFI, BBC Films and the British Council, and will have its World Premiere at Toronto International Film Festival 2021, in the Discovery section.
