Showtime’s ‘Let The Right One In’ TV Series Adaptation Now Casts Nick Stahl
Showtime is currently fast at work developing a TV adaptation of Let the Right One In. The project is based on the iconic 2004 novel by Swedish author John Ajvide Lindqvist. The original 2008 film adaptation is considered to be one of the greatest vampire movies of all time, and now Away creator Andrew Hinderaker is helming the tragic horror story for television.
The new show has a quickly growing ensemble. The cast includes Anika Noni Rose, Grace Gummer, Madison Taylor Baez, Kevin Carroll, Ian Foreman, and Jacob Buster. Nick Stahl now joins the series produced by Tomorrow Studios for Showtime.
A bloody new era
According to Deadline, the Let the Right One In series is an “exploration of human frailty, strength, and compassion through an elevated genre lens. It centers on Mark (Bichir) and his daughter Eleanor (Baez), whose lives were changed forever 10 years earlier when she was turned into a vampire. Locked in at age 12, perhaps forever, Eleanor lives a closed-in life, able to go out only at night, while her father does his best to provide her with the human blood she needs to stay alive.”
Nick Stahl will appear as Matthew in Let the Right One In, “a former soldier and fiercely loyal fixer for the Logan family, whose clean-cut, mild-mannered exterior belies a savagery beneath.” Stahl is no newcomer to the horror genre. He can be seen on an exciting series arc on Fear of the Walking Dead. More recently, he starred in Fantasia Fest standout What Josiah Saw. He also appeared as Yellow Bastard, one of the most frightening villains of all time in 2005’s Sin City.
Additionally, Let the Right One In also received an American remake in 2008 retitled Let Me In directed by Matt Reeves.
