‘A Quiet Place Part III’ Is Official, Sets Sights On New Release Date
You want it, you got it. A Quiet Place Part III is officially en route from Paramount and filmmaker John Krasinski. The director announced the news on Tuesday, however it is still unclear who will be writing and helming the sequel, THR reports.
The A Quiet Place franchise kicked off in 2018 and has since grown into a massive horror property for the studio. The first film was written by Krasinksi alongside collaborators Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. The star also directed the title to critical and commercial success. The film went on to earn more than $340 million, and the rest is history.
Maybe more impressively, the follow-up film A Quiet Place Part II defeated the pandemic odds. The sequel would go on to earn upwards of $300 million when all was said and done, even after long delays caused by COVID-19.
A Quiet Place takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where a family is forced to live in silence while hiding from monsters with ultra-sensitive hearing. It has spawned an entire trope of sense-related horror titles.
A Quiet Place happens to be a family affair in front of cameras as well as behind. Series creator John Krasinski stars in the original alongside his IRL wife Emily Blunt. The two A-Listers have helped to ensure this series is one of the most profitable blockbusters in Paramount’s catalogue.
Next up for Krasinski is If, his next directorial gig. Expected out next year, If stars Steve Carell and Ryan Reynolds.
Lastly, how do you feel about the inevitable A Quiet Place Part III? Are you ready for more monster mayhem, or should Paramount leave well enough alone? Let me know what you think on Twitter via @joshkorngut.
