In ‘Mental Health & Horror,’ ‘Host’s Jed Shepherd Explains How Horror Makes You Feel Better About Yourself [Exclusive]

Mental Health & Horror

Horror is comforting. It’s a statement that may baffle some, but horror fans know what I mean. Sure, horror is by its very nature scary and sometimes disgusting. But within a horror movie’s controlled chaos, many of us find peace and security. The upcoming feature-length documentary Mental Health & Horror: A Documentary understands just that.

In an exclusive clip from the film, Jed Shepherd, writer of the terrifying film Host, shares why he loves the genre:

Shepherd is only one of a wide variety of interview subjects appearing in Mental Health & Horror. Director Jonathan Barkan, producer Andrew Hawkins, and executive producer David Lawson, Jr. have recruited horror icons, fans, film critics, historians, directors, writers, and professionals from the mental health world.
