‘X’: Stephen King Shares His Opinion On Ti West’s New Horror Film

Ti West is back on the horror scene with one of the year’s best new films. The latest from West and studio A24 is earning high praise for its fun tone and gory set pieces. Dread Central writer Drew Tinnin even wrote a four star review which highlighted some of the film’s brutality, saying  “X isn’t cerebral, but there is a shocking amount of brain matter splattered on the screen.” We were not alone. X is earning rave reviews from all over the Internet, including from the genre’s biggest name of all: Stephen King.

King took to Twitter to voice his opinion about A24’s latest shocker. And we’re happy to report the horror master is a fan. Check out what he had to say right here:

Ti West is a horror hero in his own right, having directed numerous modern classics, so it’s great to see him get recognized by King. West first rose to horror prominence with extraordinary indie features like The House of the Devil and The Innkeepers. He has since gone on to craft big-budget thrillers with major Hollywood stars. Now horror’s prodigal son returns with X, a new vision of well-crafted terror.

A Pearl has formed

In other X news, it turns out there’s already a prequel film in the works from West and A24. This information came after the X SXSW premiere, where a teaser for prequel film Pearl was shown. The footage is also be playing exclusively in theaters alongside X. Pearl, which has already wrapped shooting in New Zealand, is currently in post-production!
