‘The Munsters’: Rob Zombie Shares Gloomy New Image Of His Reboot Cast
Get ready for another update from The Munsters frontline. Rob Zombie is back on Instagram with a behind-the-scenes image of his main ensemble looking moody and iconic in between shots. The new color shot features Sherri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, Jeff Daniel Philips as Herman Munster, and Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa Munster.
Zombie’s status for the image gives a little bit of context to the grim expressions on the actors’ faces. “It’s been a tough one for this trio,” writes the director in his status. “Three hours in makeup – 14 hours of shooting – one hour of clean up. Then a drive back to the hotel, grab a few zzz and straight back on set.” It’s a tough life for a Munster.

The original cast of The Munsters featured Fred Gwynne, Yvonne de Carlo, Beverly Owen, Butch Patrick, and Al Lewis as Grandpa Munster. Together, the group played the average nuclear American family. But twist—they were a clan of monsters!
Back in the 1980s, they resurfaced as The Munsters Today—the longest-running series in the property’s history. In 2012 NBC gave a reboot a try with Bryan Fuller at the helm. While the pilot for Mockingbird Lane has its fans, it wasn’t enough for the network to push the iteration forward as a series.
Lastly, there’s still no word if The Munsters will head to theaters, or if it’ll be exclusive through the streamer Peacock sometime in 2022.
