Father of Flies

Father of Flies looks like an absolutely wild ride all while tackling the trauma of grief. The trailer features a creepy stepmom, a scary creature, and a threatening clown. Now, in this exclusive clip from Father of Flies, we get to see even more of the terrors that await in director Ben Charles Edwards’ new film.

Check out the full synopsis of Father of Flies below:

When a young boy’s mother is pushed out of the family home and replaced by his father’s girlfriend, he finds himself confronting terrifying supernatural forces. Have they always been there, or have they hitched a ride with the new resident?

Edwards talked to Dread Central about his inspiration for this both scary and sad horror film. He said:

“I wrote the film based on a variety of relatable situations from my childhood. Including growing up in what I still believe was a haunted house. Along with the common occurrence of the 1980s seeing a boom in divorces-,I set out to challenge the typical stereotypes of the evil stepmother which is a recurring result of such a situation. I set out to write a movie that tackles loss and true grief that a family may face once significant cracks begin to show, and the horror and heartache that awaits them”

Nicholas Tucci (You’re NextMythWolfenstein: The New Order), Camilla Rutherford (Gosford Park), and Davi Santos (Good SamTell Me A Story) star in Father of Flies. This was one of Tucci’s last appearances before his passing in 2020.

Edwards said of Tucci:

“Working with Nic Tucci was a privilege. His talent and presence on set was truly one of the highlights of the entire production. I will always consider it a great shame that I never had the opportunity to present him with the finished film. But I hope he’d be proud of what we all created together.  Father of Flies is dedicated in his memory, rest in peace Nicholas Tucci’”

Father of Flies hits digital and VOD on April 12.
